Somatic causes refer to physical problems where premature ejaculation coexists or is a consequence of other diseases. Far less frequently, too early ejaculation is effect of neurological disorders or abnormalities. Researchers have found a link between premature primary ejaculation (premature ejaculation that accompanies a man from the onset of sexual activity) and the serotonin system and the activity of neurotransmitters in brain cells. It should be noted, however, that premature primary ejaculation is one of the rare sexual dysfunctions, and usually the reason for premature ejaculation is much simpler.

Causes of premature ejaculation related to male psychology are very common, and explain why premature ejaculation can come and go. The most common problem is stress in one's life, but also the fear of being judged, or the frustration of worrying that one's partner will not be sexually satisfied. Of course, there are cases where premature ejaculation is the consequence of a serious trauma that needs to be worked through with a psychologist or psychotherapist.

Premature ejaculation happens to everyone, but if it is not a one-off event that can be linked to fatigue or temporary stress - it should not be underestimated. Premature ejaculation often manifests itself as a manifestation of other diseases or disorders, therefore diagnosis of its cause and appropriate treatment are very important.

What to do about too rapid ejaculation?

How to deal with premature ejaculation? First and foremost, if premature ejaculation occurs so frequently that a man feels a reduction in the quality of his sexual life, a urology specialist should be consulted. There is no reason to be ashamed or worried - the urologist is the doctor responsible for the health of the male genitourinary tract and approaches the problem of premature ejaculation with due attention and professionalism. A man's sex life is one of the spheres of life that allows him to realise himself and maintain a good quality of life, so any sexual disorders that negatively affect this sphere must be taken seriously.

A urologist will help coordinate the diagnosis and treatment of premature ejaculation. If he does not detect a genitourinary abnormality himself, he will order consultations and tests from other specialties to get to the root of the problem.

Sometimes psychological help is needed. Then, the urologist may recommend a consultation with a sexologist or a psychologist or psychotherapist. Psychological sexual dysfunctions should not be underestimated because, if left untreated, they can develop into sexual disorders that last for years. A specialist will help to work through psychological problems related to intercourse, erection or ejaculation and will also provide methods for delaying ejaculation that a man can use before or during intercourse.
