What is phimosis?<\/strong><\/h2>

The foreskin is the movable skin covering the glans of the penis in men. In some men, the foreskin can be too narrow or constricted due to injury or infection, which prevents the man from retracting the foreskin. This anatomical condition is called phimosis. In partial phimosis, the foreskin can be retracted to a small extent. However, in the case of complete phimosis, the foreskin is so tight that it cannot be retracted. In such cases, treatment is necessary, and one of the options is a foreskin or phimosis plastic surgery.<\/p>

Phimosis surgery involves stretching the foreskin to widen its opening, thereby allowing the foreskin to be easily retracted. In cases of complete phimosis, where the foreskin is so narrowed that it cannot be retracted, phimosis surgery involves removing part of the foreskin or the entire foreskin and widening the foreskin opening to allow it to be retracted and expose the glans penis.<\/p>

The procedure for foreskin and phimosis surgery can be performed on both children and adult men. In children, the procedure is carried out when the foreskin is too narrow, preventing proper intimate hygiene or leading to recurrent infections of the urinary tract.<\/p>

The foreskinoplasty procedure is performed under local anaesthetic and usually takes around 30 minutes. During the procedure, the surgeon makes an incision along the foreskin and then widens the foreskin opening, removing any adhesions and scarring in that area of the foreskin.<\/p>

After the procedure, the patient may experience pain and discomfort, and may also notice swelling, bruising, and bleeding at the surgical site. These symptoms usually subside after a few days, and the wound usually heals completely within a few weeks.<\/p>

Another procedure performed in the treatment of phimosis is frenuloplasty. This is a surgical procedure that involves making an incision in the frenulum and suturing it in such a way that it becomes longer and stronger.<\/p>
