Katarzyna Kurnicka, MD, PhD

Katarzyna Kurnicka, MD, PhD is a specialist in cardiology and internal medicine. She is a graduate of the Medical Academy in Warsaw, graduating with distinction from the 1st Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Kurnicka is an expert of the Echocardiography Association of the Polish Cardiac Society, and is also a member of the ESC and PTK, including the Echocardiography Section of Valvular Diseases and Heart Failure.

The Doctor has almost 20 years of experience in performing transthoracic, transesophageal and stress echocardiographic examinations. She participates in monitoring innovative cardiac surgery procedures, minimally invasive mitral valve repair using transesophageal 3D echocardiography and PFO and ASD closure procedures.

She is the Head of the Echocardiography Laboratory at the Department of Internal Medicine and Cardiology at the Medical University of Warsaw and a lecturer at advanced courses in echocardiography. She is also the author and co-author of numerous publications in Polish and foreign journals and several chapters in books on the use of echocardiography in cardiology.
