The diagnostic package developed by the Vedi Clinic medical team consists of a series of specialist consultations as well as laboratory, physical and imaging tests to diagnose the possible causes of the patient's erectile dysfunction problem.
The diagnostic package includes the following medical procedures:
As a result of the above procedures, we obtain a substantial body of information on the basis of which our specialists can make a diagnosis and plan further diagnostic (if necessary) or therapeutic procedures, such as pharmacological treatment or recommendations for lifestyle changes.
The diagnostic package includes the following medical procedures:
(analysis of blood and urine samples)
including a comprehensive medical history and physical examination
performed during a consultation by a specialist in urology and andrology, covering the male reproductive organs, including a Doppler examination to assess blood flow in the vessels.
As a result of the above procedures, we obtain a substantial body of information on the basis of which our specialists can make a diagnosis and plan further diagnostic (if necessary) or therapeutic procedures, such as pharmacological treatment or recommendations for lifestyle changes.
Diagnosis of erectile dysfunction at VEDI CLINIC begins with blood and urine laboratory tests. They allow the detection of coexisting diseases (e.g. diabetes mellitus, atherosclerosis or liver disease) and the exclusion of abnormal functioning of basic body systems - factors that may have a negative impact on the quality of erections. The diagnostic package includes the following tests:
Doppler ultrasound performed by an angiologist or radiologist is a key diagnostic tool to visualise the patient's individual anatomy, assess the condition of the penile vascular system and exclude vascular pathologies such as venous leakage or other malformations.
During a Doppler ultrasound examination, both the condition of the vessels supplying and draining blood from the penis are assessed; in addition, the speed of blood flow in these blood vessels is also measured. The Doppler ultrasound examination also makes it possible to assess the function of the endothelium and the condition of the smooth muscle tissue, which play an important role in the process of achieving an erection. To begin treatment of erectile dysfunction resulting from abnormalities at the level of the main blood vessels supplying the penis with blood, performing a Doppler ultrasound examination is essential.
Erectile problems can also arise due to urological complaints or abnormalities. During the consultation, the urologist carries out, in addition to a medical history, a physical examination of the patient to exclude anatomical abnormalities.
The urological physical examination is divided into a genital examination, during which the doctor assesses the appearance and function of the genital organs (including the urethral orifice, frenulum, foreskin and testicles). The second stage of the physical examination is a per rectum examination to exclude prostatic hyperplasia.
The urologist is the doctor who qualifies the patient for shockwave treatment and hormone treatment.
During the internal-sex consultation, the doctor, in addition to conducting a medical history and physical examination, discusses with the patient the question of pharmacological treatment. The specialist analyses the information obtained in order to find the cause of the problem, whether it lies in the psychological sphere or among the symptoms of somatic diseases. During the consultation, the doctor rules out possible interactions between drugs used by the patient to treat other diseases, determines the risk of erectile dysfunction due to taking pharmacological agents, and adjusts the dose and type of drug used to treat erectile dysfunction on an ad hoc basis.
Once the diagnosis is completed, the patient receives a summary of the results of the tests and specialist consultations in the form of a patient information sheet. The patient information sheet also contains medical recommendations for further therapeutic treatment.
